Residential Restoration in Portland, Maine and Surrounding Areas

I can't say enough about the positive experience I had with Viking Restoration DKI. I own a gym in Portland, Maine. One of our members broke a valve on our sprinkler system and it flooded our entire gym. Needless to say, I was sure we would have a huge mitigation bill and be closed for several days. I called three restoration companies. Rory from Viking was on-site at my gym within an hour. He gave me a reasonable quote and had his team on-site and mitigating the water damage within an hour. By the time Rory and his team were on-site and working, I finally heard from the other two competitors. Their quotes came in nearly 30% higher! Rory and his team did a great job and we were open for business the next day. My advice if you have something happen to your business is to not panic and call these guys right away. Although it may look like you'll be down for several days, they can turn that damage around quickly, affordably, and get you open again sooner than you ever thought.

Thorough, personally invested and competent are the three marks I shall remember about your work. The work was thorough, ethical and professional. The restoration work was done beyond the average, including sending out Viking's own contracted inspector to review structural needs when the insurance inspector spent 10 minutes under our house and came up with a false report. The second Viking inspector spent over an hour under and around our home, sending out a timely more accurate report. Tony was more than professionally invested, working with the insurance company and other contracted professionals to see that the rebuilding of the home was done not only up to code but up to the standards he would expect in his own home. Our house, once in shambles, is now a home again. Tony's team were knowledgeable and also thorough, as well as being friendly and understanding. Even the electricians and plumbers explained more than what I imagined about the work they would do and why it was going to be done. Thank you for your standards Tony and I have already recommended your company to others in need.

About nine years ago my husband bought the land where we live and, with the help of his father, cleared the land and had the trees cut into lumber to build our home. He built a garage with a one bedroom apartment above and this is where my husband and I lived happily with the intentions of one day adding the house. After six years, two dogs and two children, we definitely needed more space. The shell of the house was built by then but with little time for building, we turned the house over to a contractor in April 2008. Over Fourth-of-July weekend 2008 we moved into the house of our dreams that we had patiently waited for, for so long. Tragically, three months later our garage caught fire and we lost the garage, two vehicles, and the entire house was declared a total loss due to smoke and heat damage. We learned of Viking Restoration through our insurance company, Liberty Mutual, and within days of the fire Tony was at our home and ready to rebuild. From demolition of the fire debris and gutting the entire house to the last coat of paint, Viking Restoration handled everything. You all did an amazing job. Our house is once again beautiful and we are happy to be home. The words "thank you" will never quite express how grateful we are. But all we can say is "thank you" and we would recommend you to anyone for any need. You will never know the impact on our lives the fire has had. We are so grateful for all of your help in rebuilding our home.

Viking Restoration in Portland, ME, was the perfect company to solve our problem due to water damage. When we returned to our Maine home and turned on the water there were several leaks due to frozen pipes and a cracked toilet in spite of the fact that the house had been closed by a qualified plumber. Ceilings, walls, floors and carpeting were damaged. I called my insurance company, USAA, and they gave me Viking's name. I called them and within an hour they arrived on the scene and appraised the damage. The next morning their people were on the scene and went to work. They were here continuously until the job was done. It took considerably less time than I had anticipated. When one group finished their task, the next group was at the door waiting to begin. The quality of work was excellent. When they finished the condo looked new.

We had a water tank break so I called Viking Restoration before it got out of hand, and when I called they were very kind with me, and helped me. They said they had called their best workers, and before I knew it, 4 amazing gentleman came to my door, Tony, Jeff, Gary, and Joe, they were so kind and patient with me. Tony was here right away, working with me and with the Insurance company. Those 4 men were a great bunch. They were very concerned with me and my husband, for which my husband has been really sick for a long time. I would recommend this company, not only did they do a amazing job, the went the extra mile and was there for my family.

- Thank you from Robert and Doris G.
The guys from Viking responded quicker than they originally told us on the phone, which was awesome. Tony and Jeff were spectacular! They were the first to arrive, immediately assessed our situation and got right to work before the rest of the Viking team arrived. They have been extremely responsive to our needs and did what it took to ensure our basement is dry again.I highly recommend them and will use them again should the need arise.

I wanted to take a minute to let you know about my recent experience with an employee, Rory Hannon.
I am a real estate broker who represented a seller. The seller hired Viking Restoration to remediate the attic and basement of their father's estate house in North Yarmouth. The buyer was a friend of the sellers and did not have representation. The real estate deal was one of the hardest I have experienced in over 15 years of working in the field.

I am sending this to tell you how professional Rory was during this process. Not only was he fully knowledgeable in the remediation of mold, he never compromised the process. He always returned my calls or text in a timely manner at all hours of the day (even when out of town). The buyer tried to control the process and Rory was not willing to conform to the buyer's demands, which would have compromise the post test.

The day before the closing, the buyer did a walk through and went into the attic. He claimed the mold was not fully remediated and took pictures of what he thought was mold. Rory addressed the situation quickly and sent someone out the morning before the closing to investigate. I had also asked for something in writing and he immediately supplied that for me. This happened in a small window of time.

I am sure you have experienced this from Rory, but I want to tell you that he is a huge value in this industry. He stays calm in stressful situations and does everything to make the process easier for all involved. He is excellent at people skills and I have recommended your company to the brokers that I work with and will continue to spread the word.

Rory Hannon is truly an asset to your company! I can not express how much he helped in getting my client to the closing table and knowing they sold the house knowing all mold was remediated. The seller told me she would be happy to write a recommendation for Viking. Please send me business cards and I will make sure to get them to others in the real estate industry.
